Mrs Meenu Choudhary has been appointed Private Secretary to Mrs Sushma Swaraj, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs. She is a 2000 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre.

The vacancy has come up as IPS officer Jagjeet Singh Deswal, who was working as the private secretary to the Overseas Indian Affairs Minister, was sent back to his union territories cadre before completion of his five-year term.
Deswal was in September last year appointed as private secretary to the Minister for five-year term. However, on May 26, the Appointments Committee of Cabinet had approved Deswal’s “premature repatriation”.

IPS Empanelment

Six IPS officers of 1987 batch have been empanelled for the posts of Joint Secretary in Government of India. The officers are: A Sermarajan of Bihar; V K Singh of Jammu and Kashmir; Vijay Kumar and Pawan Kumar Jain of Madhya Pradesh cadre; Thianghlima Pachau of Manipur-Tripura cadre and V K Bhawra of Punjab cadre.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred three IPS officers of Puducherry to New Delhi.Superintendents of Police Bhairon Singh Gurjar, (Traffic), R.A. Sanjeev (Crime and Intelligence) and Monica Bhardwaj, Karaikal has been transferred to New Delhi.

In the three transfer lists which came out on Friday and Saturday, IPS officer Deepak Kumar was transferred thrice. In the first list on Friday afternoon, Deepak, who was SP, Jalore, was transferred to CID, CB in Jaipur. In the second list on Friday night, Deepak was appointed as SP, Pratapgarh.

He was again transferred on Saturday in the third list and made DCP, headquarters in Jodhpur. Three other IPS officers were transferred twice in these transfer lists.

14 IPS officers have been transferred and posted at different places in Rajasthan. They are –
Mrs K B Vandana has been posted to Sardar Patel University of Police Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur on deputation while Deepak Kumar will now be Deputy Police Commissioner, Jodhpur and Bharat Lal Meena is Commandant, 7th Battalion, RAC Bharatpur.
